It's Southern Splash Time Again!
It’s that time again! The 2015 Premium List and Entry Form for Movers & Shakers 12th annual Southern Splash Water Trials is now available. We hope lots and lots of you can join us this year. We are excited to have another great trial.
Please read the Premium ****carefully**** as we have adopted a number of changes. The board's goal is to break even financially this year on our Southern Splash Trials at Lake Montague. In light of this, we are only renting Lake Montague for three days instead of four and are charging for Friday's practice day to help defray the cost of the site rental for that day. Friday practice will be shared with Jill's Apprentice and Junior Workshop so please make sure you book and pay for a practice slot if you would like to practice on Friday. We will be selling our popular Quack-N-Fetch ducks on Friday and Saturday for $5 each. We are excited to report that for the Saturday evening dinner we are having a do-it-yourself fajita bar, provided by Moe’s, which will be only $15 per person. A key feature for the financial success of our trial is the auction and raffle. Your generous contributions are both welcome and appreciated. Please consider bringing a donation (baskets, dog related or other items) for this event.
The National Water Trial Committee has instituted a new rule this year that has not yet been included in the Water Trial Manual, but has been published in the Courier. The minimum age for a dog to be entered remains 6 month old. However, starting this year, any dog at least 6 months old but younger than one year must earn a Junior Certificate prior to entering the Apprentice level. So puppy owners, please be aware of this change.
As most of you know the entry form is a self-populating PDF. Please note that in order for the information to remain on the form after you’ve printed it you must first download the form to your computer, then after typing in your information make sure to hit ‘save’. In other words, you can’t fill it out directly from your e-mail. Also please make sure you put your name of each of the various forms from the Premium. I collect all of them then pass each on to the appropriate person. For example, the lunch forms will go to the person in charge of lunches, the T-shirt forms will go to the person in charge of T-shirts, etc. and we want to make sure everyone gets exactly what they’ve ordered.

Breaking News! A Second Water Trial in the Fall!
As many of you know, for the last two years Chuck and Vicki Robinson have conducted an early season workshop, sponsored by M&S, at Luther Britt Park in Lumberton, NC. It has been such a success that we are planning a fall 2015 two-day, one-site trial in Lumberton in September. Fred Burton is the water trial secretary for that trial and you will be hearing more from him as the season progresses. M&S member Julie Asbed will be our judge for the September trial.
MORE Breaking News! A Joint Water Trial with USSPWDC in 2016!
A second site we are considering is High Falls Park in Seneca, SC. M&S held a practice early in May in conjunction with the Georgia group. It was a huge success and we’ve received many positive comments about the site. In October of 2016 M&S will be holding a four-day joint trial with the United Sunshine States PWD Club. This was the brainchild of our own Linda Fowler who will be the M&S chairperson. Judy Leather will serve as chair for the USSPWDC. More Information here.
